Quinn Malone - Chapter 5
I personally enjoyed the the discussion of discrimmination when hiring someone into a law firm in chapter 5. They go into detail that if there was a male and female both coming from Harvard with same age and similar backround, the person being hired would be the male. The reasons behind it because of the history of females being hired, eventually leaving on paid maternity leave, and quitting. This basically would screw over the law firm that hired this women. And although this may not be true for everyone, and the similar could happen for males too, it really only puts the law firm in a tough position to go through the process of hiring a new worker. It is then later said now, the females on maternity leave are paid while gone, unless they do not come back. This makes the sexist discrimmination less and the decision way different for the law firm hirers. There were also many other intriguing topics discussed but that is what peeked the most attention out of me.
