Chaper 2 - Question 3 - Dajanka

Even though the passage that I want to talk about was not one of the most important ones in this chapter, I find it essential to at least partially express my opinion on it.
Energy-related issues:
I find it very nice that Charles Wheelan decided to talk about this in a few sentences, but I do not find his conclusion entirely correct. He says that America is dependant on the environmental impact of CO2 emissions and therefore the world should make carbon-based energy more expensive. Yes, I agree with this simple idea and a lot of people agree too but why then does around 20% of the air pollution come from the US? Twenty percent is actually a big number. China is the biggest world polluter with 25% then USA with 20%. Third in this ranking is India with 6% which is a huge difference in comparison with the US and most other countries have less then 6%. The market would buy and sell emissions that can be released would work quiet well, but there is no other way if it is to be effective than to have China and USA participate.
I really believe that something needs to be done with this issue. And if the US does not want to struggle with enormous heat and over polluted air in the future, it should start working with its own emission and air pollution. It is not the US that is dependent on the environmental impact of the world´s emissions but the world on the USA's and China's.
