Throughout this chapter, I have come
across many ideas and notations that I can reflect to my life. Wheelan talked
about mohair farmers and later on he said that in countries where farmers are a
small part of the population, the government provides large subsidies for
agriculture. My grandfather is the exact opposite. He has been a farmer for his
whole life and he lives in the southern part of Slovakia, which is known for
agriculture, because of the suitable environment. And I also know that farming
has never been easy for him. He is a part of a majority in his area, which
means that he is not subsided. Another issue presented in the book was the
teachers´ problem. This issue is very similar to the one that my family member
when through in the last couple of years. She is a non-certified nurse in a
nursing home at Slovakia. To help you understand little bit better, the nursing
homes at Slovakia are at a very low level, concerning the conditions on the
building, and the mere function of the nursing homes. Well, she worked in one
and few years ago she was asked to get a certificate, if she wants to continue
doing her job. She was in this field for her whole life and I guarantee that
she was a really good nurse, but still they made her pay lot of money and spend
a lot of time to get a certificate, that would prove that she is capable of
doing her job. I can say that she didn´t get any better by getting her
certificate.
