Hummel- Chapter 4
This chapter focused on government involvement in the economy and to what degree is should be. Two main points were and taxes and what the tax money should go to. Wheelan says in closing the chapter that government is like a "surgeons scalpel"- it can be very good in the right hands and very bad in the wrong hands (like my shaky hands). So why don't we just make sure that the right people are behind the knife? Why can't we (or the people of countries) just install the best people in government to create the best countries with the best economies? There needs to be a way for the right people to gain power, especially in the very poor counties, that will lead their economy to recovery. This however is nearly impossible due to ignorance of people/uneducated people, greed and preexisting governments. So much needs to change in many countries for government to work effectively.
