quinn malone - chapter 2
Chapter 2 of Naked Econmics is an interesting one. An issue discussed that stood out at me the most was the black rhino situation. The issue is the black rhino is worth less alive than dead in some people's mind. Those certain people are killing black rhinos mainly to sell their horns, worth about $30,000, knowing that they can make a lot of money relative to the risk of getting caught selling on the black market. Incentives is a pretty main topic of the chapter as it is a very important one. Rational behavior turns irrational as the incentives to do some things become larger. Lots of people now-a-days are willing to make money whenever an opportunity arises. Those people more times than not are obstructed by some ideas that may not necassarily be good, causing them to act irrationally rather than rationally.
