CHAPTER 1 - QUESTION 2

The issues presented in Chapter one very much so affect my existence. Fluctuating product prices results in a swift change of how much something can mean to us - being or not being a necessity/want. For me, these variating product prices change my opinion of things all the time. Living so far away from school, I go through quite a bit of gas each week. During the school year my parents graciously pay for my gas, however, during the summer it's my turn. This certainly makes me contemplate how just how important the locations I want to travel to really are. Thus, when gas is cheaper I am much more willing to travel farther away. Another example of how certain affairs pertain to my life is the scarcity of certain foods in our grocery stores. Despite the fact that it's not very often, sometimes I/my family makes foreign dishes. Doing so can be difficult at times when the ingredients calls for things rarely found in standard american food markets. Although my issues aren't anything urgent, it's fascinating how such ideas expressed in this novel can be so easily relatable even for a young teen who may not relate to heavier topics that are also mentioned.
