Chapter 8
Question 6
Wheelan talked about how politics and compassion can make it hard for economics to move forward. We feel bad for those who suffer because of competition. He uses the example of the Pony Express and telegraphs. There are two choices: one, teach those working for the Pony Express how to use telegraphs or two, ban the telegraph. The answer seems obvious in this situation. Teach Pony Express workers how to use the telegraph. This allows for progress both technologically and economically. It is a lot less easy for us to see the answer now. This is often where we get "stuck."

Hey! We wrote about the same thing (kind of). And I agree with your post. So, what do you think we should do? Should we take the extra time and teach those to help innovate a system, or just stay the same? (I think that's what your post was getting at). It may seem obvious but what are the ways we get 'stuck', and how do weout?
